Juniors win big
The junior Basketball team of the Basketball Artists School surprised their older rivals when they won the Khomas High School Basketball league last weekend. The primary school team first defeated the very strong Immanuel Shifidi Secondary School in the semi-final (40:31) and then gave Khomas High School no chance in the final (42:14). The key to success was the simple strategy “Defense and Fast Break”. Their coach Pondo Nailenge said the girls “deservedly won their games. They work very hard every day on their academic as well as their basketball fundamentals. It also proves that mini-basketball is a very important part of development of Namibian basketball.” Celebrating their victory are from left to right top: Victoria Shilongo, Fatima Gertze, Inge Korukuve, Vicky Ndjambula, Loide Haingura, Lino Nina Simao.
