OVC Christmas party brings joy for Walvis children
08 December 2016 – A large group of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) enjoyed a special Christmas party this week Wednesday as the guests of Hangana Seafood in Walvis Bay.
Some 120 children came together at the Sparta sport grounds for the 8th consecutive OVC Coastal Christmas party.
Children from the Erongo House of Safety; Swakopmund Tears of Hope; Promise Land Soup Kitchen; Promise Land Play School; Kids Haven and Jonah Home were treated to a party filled with lots of games, goodies and of course Santa Claus.
Santa arrived in a red Land Rover much to the surprise of the children. He brought lovely gifts prepared by the O&L employees. Each year, the operating companies of the O&L Group, Pick n Pay Namibia; Namibia Breweries Limited; Namibia Dairies; Broll Namibia; Dimension Data; O&L Energy; O&L Leisure; Hangana Seafood; Kraatz; Eros Air; Weathermen & Co. and Brandtribe support various Christmas parties for orphans and vulnerable children in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
At Wednesday’s party, the General Manager of the Strand Hotel Swakopmund, Lance Hurly expressed his joy to see all the children enjoy themselves so much. The hotel is also in the O&L stable.
O&L employee Tanja Payne said “Our employees are very passionate about the annual OVC Christmas party and are committed to make a positive impact on the lives of these children. There is nothing quite as special as being rewarded with the happy smiles and laughter of the children which can be heard throughout this fun filled day.”
