“The fans of the Windhoek Jazz Festival, should look forward to a dynamic line-up to listen to our local and international artist,” announced the Windhoek Jazz Festival Organising Committee in a statement this week. The Festival will be held on 5 November 2016, at the Hage Geingob Rugby Stadium from 15:00 till late and tickets are available from Computicket outlets for N$250.
The organisers have confirmed that the artist line-up includes local jazzies Big Ben, Fu Jazz, Suzy Eises, Swingers Jazz and Chikune and the international artist are Nathi Mankayi, Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu from South Africa, Julian Wassefur from Germany and Elisa Rodrigues from Portugal.
“The calibre of the artists performing at this year’s festival is exceptional and in every way we try to give our fans more reasons to look forward to the festival,” they said promising that apart from the soulful sounds of these remarkable performers, the event also offers a safe and peaceful environment with a lavish food court and a huge beer tent amongst others. The festival’s only intention is for the audience to listen to good music, enjoy quality time, unwind, have a wonderful dinner and sip Namibia’s best beers.
The organising committee warned that festival goers are not allowed to bring pets, weapons, food and drinks, but empty cool boxes will be allowed. “Before coming down to the stadium to enjoy the festival you should ensure that you have your ticket ready, camping chair, cash and a positive attitude. Security will be tight as usual to ensure that jazz fans enjoy their music in peace,” concluded the Windhoek Jazz Festival organising committee.
