The fourth of 5 Timeout Beach Series 2016 events took place late last week at DTS Beach Arena, Windhoek. This was the third time a competition was held at the DTS Beach Arena this year.
45 athletes and 7 teams battled it out for a total winning prize of N$6,000.
In the 4-a-side mixed social category, Dunes and Spikoholics made it to the final. Dunes dominated at the net in the match with some powerful spiking and blocking which saw them becoming Red Bull Interpack King & Queen 4-a-side mixed champions.
In the Ladies Legends we saw 4 ex-beach volleyball athletes stepping onto the sand again to compete for the title of Legend Queen of the Beach. After battling it out, lastly Selma Nahambo was awarded the golden medal In the Men’s legends competition, Deon Heinrich Cloete took the top sport with John Beukes on second place and Ruben Delie on the third place. Queen of the Beach podium places were decided on points difference with Steff Palmhert taking the bronze, Kristin Schulz the silver and Simone von Wietersheim getting the gold and Queen of the Beach title. In the King of the Beach battle, it was a close call for 2nd & 3rd place as they were separated by 2 points difference.
Panashe Chiguta. grabbed the bronze, while Andriko von Ludwiger took the silver. But the clear winner was Jan-Eric Sack taking the King of the Beach Title for the second year in a row.
