New wave of Weltwaerts volunteers arrived

Seventeen young German volunteers arrived in Namibia last week for their yea-long mission of service to rural outposts across the country. They were hosted by the Councillor for Development Cooperation, Stella Seibert-Palascino at a function at the German Embassy where they were joined by the group of Namibian volunteers on their way to Germany as part of the reciprocal exchange programme. The places for these volunteers are made available and financed by the German Red Cross. The German volunteers serve at the Red Cross Society in various regions and at selected NGOs. The Namibian volunteers serve at the Red Cross regional offices in Gelsenkirchen, Witten, Bochum and Siegen. During their first week all volunteers participate in an introductory seminar in either Windhoek or Münster.

About The Author

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
