Book now through Webtickets Namibia

A new webticket service was launched this week as a joint venture by WhatsOn Namibia and Pick n Pay supermarkets. Modelled on similar online ticketing services, Webtickets Namibia takes bookings and sells tickets for large events with the idea to promote attendance by making it convenient for any person to buy a seat in the audience in advance.
Delia Magg-Thesenvitz of WhatOn said “Webtickets Namibia promises to be an innovative and convenient ticketing and event registration service provider. Customers have the option to book or buy event tickets online or at selected Pick n Pay stores countrywide.”
“Mobi tickets, scanning of tickets directly off your phone, seating plans, discount functionalities, package deals, booking online and paying in store – that’s only a few of the features our system is capable of,” Delia said adding that she and business partner Drienie Ellis have gained much experience of marketing events from the promotions they do at WhatsOn Namibia.
Event promoters and organisers can make tickets available on the Webtickets website and Facebook pages and send SMS notifications in the event of any changes. In addition, Webtickets can also handle door sales and ticket scanning. “Trade fairs, live shows, sport events, corporate workshops, small or big events – we strive to provide our clients and their customers with customized and affordable solutions”, stated Drienie.
Pick n Pay Namibia Finance Director, Waldemar von Lieres said “Growth and innovation remain a critical part of Pick n Pay, not only for the company but for the benefit of all Namibians. This new partnership is testimony of our dedication to grow and innovate to ensure a sustainable business that meets the needs of all our customers here in Namibia.”

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
