Round Table covers cancer treatment costs

“Windhoek 34 Round Table” donated N$96,000 to the Patient Financial Assistance Programme of the Cancer Association of Namibia.
The proceeds come from tickets sales for last year’s “Black Bra Ladies Evening” hosted by the Round Table in Windhoek. This year’s Black Bra is scheduled for November. Tickets are now for sale, and all proceeds, after expenses, will again go to the Cancer Association.
Said Mr Ernst Grothkopf of the Windhoek 34 Round Table: “The Round Table remains committed to the fight against cancer and the “Windhoek 34 Table” supports patients with travelling and accommodation expenses, and the cost of medication where needed. We confirm this commitment through our support of our project partner, the cancer association, [knowing] that together we can impact lives and instil hope.”
In the previous financial year, the Cancer Association expended more than N$3,4 million for Patient Financial Assistance in the form of accommodation and transportation for cancer patients to receive treatment.
The association said this week cancer patients are welcome to apply for Patient Financial Assistance when in need (i.e. no medical aid or funds depleted). Subject to fixed criteria and policies, these patients will be assisted either financially, with accommodation and/or transport, commodity assistance or medical care support during the period of their treatment.
The 2016 “Black Bra Ladies Evening” will take place on Saturday, 05 November 2016 in Windhoek. Tickets are for sale on the Computicket website.

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
