FNB introduces cash deposits at ATM’s

FNB Namibia has announced another exciting feature to their Automatic Teller Machines (ATM’s), in the form of real time deposits at the ATM. Brandon Brock, Manager ATM’s explained: “We have introduced ATM’s with automated deposits, which process deposits in real time. This means that after cash is deposited at the ATM with automated deposits, it is immediately available and you receive your free notification message.”
Brock goes on to say that this feature became necessary to once again allow FNB customers the flexibility to choose if they want to make use of an ATM or deposit inside the branch. “Our bricks to clicks strategy allow us to innovate for our client’s convenience and we continue to find ways and means for our customers to become more self-sufficient with their finances without having to go inside a branch. Over month end our branches are flooded with customers wanting to deposit cash. In order to address our customers’ need, we required an alternative means for them to deposit cash,” said Brock.
The new feature is not yet available at all FNB ATM’s throughout the country. “The response by customers has been very positive. One of our customer’s response after using the ATM to make a cash deposit for the first time was ‘Thank you FNB this is so good, no more waiting for the bank to open to make deposits. I will go and share the good news with my friends’. As the ATMs are available 24/7, our customers can make deposits any time,” Brock added.
These ATMs are currently installed at the following branches Windhoek Main Branch, Katutura Branch, Oshakati, Ondangwa, Ongwediva, Walvis Bay, Otjiwarongo, Mariental and at the new FNB building. More branches will follow and customers can look out for them.
FNB Namibia currently has 268 ATMs and 34 Slimline ATMs. Additional features available on FNB ATMs are payments, transfers, eWallet send and withdrawal, prepaid electricity, airtime and the new cash deposit in real time.
