This Master Framework Agreement recognizes the importance and complementary roles the two institutions play in developing science, technology and innovation. The agreement is a critical tool in streamlining research grant management, as both the commission and the university fulfil important roles in the functional innovation system, particularly at policy level. Since its inception in 2013, the Research, Science and Technology Fund administrated by the commission, has received and assessed over 397 applications for funding. Applications were received based on advertised calls inviting Research and Innovation proposals. To date, 147 applications worth a funding value of over N$27 million has been assessed and approved.
