Prof. Tjama Tjivikua (left) Rector of the Namibia University of Science and Technology, with Dr Eino Mvula, the CEO of the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology, signing the agreement to enable researchers based at the university, to obtain funding from the commission. This Master Framework Agreement recognizes the importance and complementary roles the two institutions play in developing science, technology and innovation. The agreement is a critical tool in streamlining research grant management, as both the commission and the university fulfil important roles in the functional innovation system, particularly at policy level. Since its inception in 2013, the Research, Science and Technology Fund administrated by the commission, has received and assessed over 397 applications for funding. Applications were received based on advertised calls inviting Research and Innovation proposals. To date, 147 applications worth a funding value of over N$27 million has been assessed and approved.

About The Author

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
