This annual event , which is being held for the fourth year now, is aimed at the school going youth. It encourages competition between schools in different forms of sport namely soccer, rugby and netball.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, the head of marketing and corporate communications at FNB, Dxon Norval said that the classic clashes pitches traditional rival schools against each other in sports.
He said: “It is FNB’s hope that this rivalry will spill over to the academic field and develop young men and women who hold academic performance in high regard as well.
“We hope that these youngsters will turn into young professionals who can help Namibia achieve all the objectives set out in Vision 2030.”
This year, the FNB classic clashes established their facebook page for the youth to share their  achievements and experiences as well as upload pictures of the tournament.
The theme for this year’s classic clashes is “Game on” and will feature matches between twenty schools from the central, northern and southern parts of the country as well as the coast.
