New CEO at regional market research group

Professor Adré Schreuder, SAMRA chair, with newly appointed SAMRA CEO, Leonie Vorster.Responding to marketing research developments and concomitant legislative challenges, the Southern African Marketing Research Association (SAMRA), has announced the appointment of Evolutions Research Solutions MD, former SAMRA Chair, Council member and accredited researcher, Leonie Vorster, as CEO.
According to SAMRA chair Professor Adré Schreuder, with her in-depth knowledge and experience of, passion for, and valuable contribution to the marketing research industry in general and SAMRA in particular, the research industry as a whole stands to benefit hugely from Vorster’s appointment.
A loyal supporter of SAMRA and its objectives for many years, Vorster’s passion for the industry is well-known.
“Research has a powerful voice, and it is our intention that it is heard, loud and clear! It is at the forefront of accessing information, making sense of it, and ensuring optimal use of information, to benefit not only industry clients but also the general public and broader society. In this context, it is a great honour for me to take on my new role as SAMRA CEO at this exciting time. The position is not without its challenges, but I am eager and very excited to meet these challenges,” Vorster notes.
As SAMRA CEO, she will direct her efforts at promoting professional research standards among all the stakeholders, encouraging the public to participate in legitimate research, and protecting the public against unscrupulous researchers and those posing as researchers.
Vorster obtained a Masters degree in Research Psychology at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and BA Honours (Psychology, cum laude) and BA (Communication Science) at the University of Johannesburg.
