Tigers joins Sundowns and Pirates in Geingob Cup

MTC Premiership champions Tigers FC have joined defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and another South African club Orlando Pirates as three of the four sides for the 6-7 August pre-season tournaments, Dr. Hage Geingob Cup in Windhoek.
This was reveled on Wednesday afternoon at the launch of the third edition of the lucrative and exciting cup in honor of H.E. President Dr. Hage Geingob.
Yet again, local fans have a say on a club to feature in the prestigious tournament as the sms line opened yesterday for fans to vote for their local club to the short code 5003.
Sundown’s representative Trott Molotto said his team is looking forward to defending the title and taking it back home for the second time. The current PSL champions won the cup in the first edition of the competition in 2014 and successfully defended it last year.
Pirates representative Floyd Mbele was humbled to be invited to the competition, noting that it gives his team an opportunity to play Namibia for the first time.
The competition will start on 6 August with the first match between Tigers and the yet to be confirmed local side which will be determined by the sms voting.
