FNB Global United delivers in Katima

The FNB Global United international legends team beat the Katima Legends 7: 0 at the Katima stadium in front of enthusiastic spectators, at a match played last week.
The game kicked off in the afternoon and the first goal fell within the first five minutes with a simple tap into the goal by Fredi Bobic after a cross provided by Lothar Sippel. In the 10th minute another goal was scored though a header by Fredi Bobic and so the goals kept rolling in.
Collin Benjamin in cooperation with Fredi Bobic scored the third goal in the 20th minute and the crowd went wild. Altogether seven goals were achieved of which five were passed into the net by Fredi Bobic and two by Michel Dinzey.
Lutz Pfannenstiel, founder of Global United thanked the Katima Legends for a great and clean game and wished them well in future endeavors. “The game was great and we enjoyed it tremendously. For us, however, it is not about winning or losing. It is about the environment and we hope that we have had an impact on Katima and its people,” he said.
“I urge everyone to clean up, recycle and reuse where possible and also use our resources wisely. While we have noticed that Katima seems to have sufficient water – unlike the central areas – we know that the supply of electricity remains a challenge for the whole country and this is one resource we also need to use wisely. We look forward to visiting Katima someday again – possibly as tourists – and seeing a change in this beautiful town,” he added.
FNB Namibia is the main sponsor of the FNB Global United Climate Kick and this year contributed an amount of N$ 500,000 for the environmental initiative.
