The Women’s Action for Development (WAD) was awarded by PMR Africa a Golden Arrow 2015 Award, for the fifth consecutive time in the category of the ‘Company/Institution doing most to empower women’, at an event held at Safari Court and Hotel on14 March 2016. Salatiel Shinedima, Executive Director of WAD said they are honoured once again to receive such recognition for the contribution they make to the development of the country. “Sometimes you are so much engrossed in working towards achieving your goals, without realizing that someone acknowledges what you are doing,” he emphasised. “We are determined to continue complementing the work of government in its efforts to reduce unemployment and poverty in the country,” he concluded. WAD is an organization that empowers predominantly women and unemployed youth with basic vocational skills that will enable them to find jobs or start their own income generating enterprises.
