Accountability of public officials explored

The Parliament Standing Committee on Public Accounts in partnership with the World Bank Institute and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is hosting the Accountability Conference of the Eastern African Association of Public Accounts Committees (EAAPAC) and Southern Africa Development Community Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC) from 7 to 12 May at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek.
The theme of the conference is Effective Public Financial Accountability in the Southern and Eastern African Regions.
The general objective of the conference is to develop the community of public accountants as a dynamic learning partnership between its members.
The expected outcomes are; a growing body of knowledge, insights into each other’s practice, mutual support in shared challenges, stories of changing practices and improved performance,  shared resource and work-in-progress, focus groups working on community issues, strategic action plans, and finally, conference resolutions.
The Standing Committee on Public Accounts is the local host. The public liaison officer for the National Council, Momley Amushendje can be contacted for accreditation to this event.
