Engen Usakos gets face-lift
The expansion and upgrade of the port of Walvis Bay is set to face-lift and economically boost the towns located along the Trans-Kalahari highway as traffic is set to increase. Recently Usakos Engen upgraded its One Stop in preparation of more business opportunities to follow with the completion of the port.
“Many people love fresh deli food, our products are local. We added Chicken chilli bites to our range, as we felt there is a niche for a new type of biltong for people looking for something special and varied,”said Irene Simeon- Kurtz, owner of Engen One Stop Usakos. This is her take of the new biltong shop available at the revamped Engen One Stops service station.
According to her the new improvements are set to attract more commuters to visit the revamp shop and reopening of the biltong factory shop as well as refuel. “We produce and export great quality meat, the factory and outlet adds value to the meat industry,” she said.
The Managing Director of Engen Namibia, Nangula Hamunyela as well as various local business people and heads of government in Usakos witnessed the unveiling. Mayor of the town, Aksel Mwafangeyo said the newly sworn-in town council consist of able members to develop and bring about opportunities that would benefit Usakos.
Hamunyela said that the uniquely distinguished shop is unique to all the other 55 Engen service stations in Namibia.
“Irene, her management and staff are going extra miles to ensure that they provide quality service to make this place pleasant and attractive to regular and potential new clients,” she added.
Hamunyela also pointed out that the constructive financial gains by the shop are set to add to the the community. “This small business has a staff compliment of about 66 employees, each with a roughly estimated four dependants, in some cases even more that are having a living through this establishment. Which is a significant contribution to people’s livelihoods,” she said.
All guests and dignitaries were treated to the taste of Namibia’s finest biltong and other dry-meat delicacies back in the factory shop.
