Ball keeps youth on the court

The Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) in collaboration with the Basketball Artists School (BAS) offers an open basketball programme for boys and girls in Katutura. It takes place every Tuesday and Friday from 14:30 to 16:30 at the basketball courts of the Katutura Sports Complex (Hostel Street/Bondel Street, in the stadium behind the Youth Hostel) and is free of cost. The age groups are primary school (grades 5-7) and secondary school (grades 8-12), as well as out-of-school-youth (up to 24 years). Both beginners and advanced players are welcome. The open programme is part of the project “Free Throw – Basketball Artists against HIV & AIDS”, funded by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). “Our main goals are to give more boys and girls the chance to learn and to play basketball, as well as raising awareness for a healthy lifestyle,” said Project Coordinator and NBF Secretary General Ramah Mumba.

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
