Cancer message blooms in Rehoboth

The new mayor of Rehoboth, Her Worship Christine Elizabeth Petrus-Blaauw officiated at her first public event earlier this week when she opened the new Cancer Outreach centre in Rehoboth.
The Cancer Association of Namibia officially launched the Rehoboth Cancer Outreach Project signalling a new chapter in cancer awareness, education, prevention and care for the residents of the important growth centre in the Hardap Region.
After the launch, the Cancer Association said the project forms part of a series of community outreach initiatives that it is driving across the country in partnership with local communities.
Rehoboth’s new cancer information office and clinic is situated at “The Torch” centre and will host Pap smear and breast examinations for the prevention of breast and cervical cancer among women.
For the men, tests can be done to test for and prevent prostate and testicular cancer.

The Cancer Association advised that residents of Rehoboth and other villages in the district, can contact Ms Irene Mouton, Deputy Chairman of the Rehoboth Committee, at 081 235 2505 for more information on talks, awareness, projects and clinic dates.

Typesetter

Today the Typesetter is a position at a newspaper that is mostly outdated since lead typesetting disappeared about fifty years ago. It is however a convenient term to indicate a person that is responsible for the technical refinement of publishing including web publishing. The Typesetter does not contribute to editorial content but makes sure that all elements are where they belong. - Ed.
