Omeya medal competition

With some very windy weather the previous weekend, the Omeya golf course hosted its first important local medal tournament. Ruan Huysamen, a Namibian player, won the gross with a 70. Best net was Francois Hanekom with a 72, with Marc Gregan and Michael Tune sharing 2nd net with 73`s.
HOLLARD insurance announced that they will be sponsoring the National Mid-Amateur Championships at Omeya on 12 and 13 May 2012. The A division guys over 35 will play medal, and the B & C division guys will play medal Stableford. A & B division will play a championship set-up with fast greens and stretched tees, while the C division will play a shorter set-up.
