Ambunda to slug it out with Aussie live on SuperSport

The boxing fight between Paulus ‘The Rock’ Ambunda and Jason ‘Nugget’ Cooper from Australia is set to be an epic event on Namibia’s boxing calender as it marks SuperSports’s début live boxing broadcast from Ramatex.
The fight which is pencilled for Saturday, will see Ambunda (35) slug it out with Cooper (24) in a match set for 12 rounds, in which he will be defend his IBO Super Bantamweight title.
At a recent press meeting held in Windhoek, Ambunda said “it will be war”,and he is ready to trade leather with his Australian opponent. “Every thing is under control,” he assured those at the media brief.
Despite the fight being broadcast on DSTV, Ambunda encouraged fans to come in their droves in support of the sport.
Other Namibian boxers whose fights will be broadcast in the lead up to the main fight include; Jeremiah Nakathila, Walter Kautondokwa; Immanuel Naidjala; Sacky Shikukutu and Betuel Ushona.

Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital & Corporate affairs at MTC reaffirmed the strategic importance of their ongoing partnership deal to the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing Academy.
“The MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing Academy is a worthy investment because they have a winning mentality and represent Namibia well on a global scale,” he added.
Meanwhile, Cooper who arrived in Namibia, on Monday said he is prepared to go the whole 12 rounds against Ambunda and if the opportunity is availed to him he will knock out his opponent.
Tickets for the event are available at the Boxing control Board and via Computicket. The live broadcast will start at 19h00 on SuperSport Select (DStv channel 233) and SuperSport select Go (Gotv Channel 30).
