Have a heart for pets

Reinhard Redecker pleaded the case of neglected pets as part of Hitradio Namibia’s, Aktion Sonnenstern last week at a public talk of the Namibia Scientific Society. Redecker introduced the “Have-A-Heart Windhoek“ campaign saying their organisation pays for the neutering of dogs and cats in Windhoek when the owners can not afford the spaying cost.
The aim is to reduce the number of dogs and cats roaming the streets. Since September 2013 more then 558 animals were spayed. Furthermore, volunteers, including students from UNAM, treat pets against ticks, to curb the spread of tick-fever. Hitradio Namibia’s mascot „Lily“ entertained the guests, while Redecker answered the many questions posed to him by the public.
