Body builders buffed up at championship

Body builders from Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Swakopmund participated in the sixth annual edition of The Nucleus Open Body building Championship last Saturday at the Warehouse Theatre. A capacity crowd of more than 300 people packed the theatre to marvel at the fine physiques of the male body builders in the lightweight, middleweight and light heavy weight divisions, while five female body builders enticed the onlookers in the Miss Beach Bikini, Miss Fitness and Miss Fitness Body Builder categories.
Henk Cloete, owner of Nucleus expressed his hopes that athletes from northern Namibia will also enter the competition in future, which will help the sport grow rapidly in Namibia.
Ryno Jacobsz of Windhoek walked away with the overall championship for men and prize money of N$10 000, sponsored by Nucleus Health and Fitness Club as well as trophies medals and supplements sponsored by Myocell. He also took the honours of winning the light heavy weight division. Willeen Visser from Windhoek was crowned as the overall champion in the ladies competition, receiving prize money of N$5 000 from Medicine World and she also won the Miss Beach Bikini Competition.
Next year’s competition will also be staged in November and details will be announced in due course.
