NBC appoints CCO

Alex ShimuafeniThe Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has appointed Alex Shimuafeni to the newly created position of Chief Commercial Officer with effect from 1 November.
The 39-year-old holds an MBA in marketing from the Regent Business School in South Africa as well as a Master of Statistics degree from the University of New South Wales (Australia).
In a statement, the NBC said Shimuafeni has extensive experience in the fields of operations and business development, marketing research and intelligence and statistics. He previously worked for NHE, FNB Namibia, Telecom Namibia, Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Central Bureau of Statistics.
One of his major career achievements is the development of the FNB Housing Index (as a co-founder), a house price movement mechanism that has been used by researchers, economist, unionist (amongst others) for various analyses. Aside from being a founding member of the market analyst team of Telecom Namibia, a section that was established specifically to deal with competitor analysis, Shimuafeni was also founding manager of market research specifically for Telecom Namibia’s international business unit, a position that was created for assessing international markets.
