Namibia Businesswoman Business Owner Award

The flamboyant and energetic, Carol-Jean Rechter, co-owner of Joe’s Beerhouse, received the Business Owner Award, with enthusiasm and jubilation, at the Businesswoman of the Year 2015 awards held last week.

At the awards she said she loves her work which she refers to as life and not work. “Being at work excites me and very little is too much for me,” she explained. She also makes a difference in her community by collecting things that are not wanted, which are mostly recyclable and sells them for a cheaper prize to organizations that need them. In regards to Joe’s Beerhouse which is one of the most famous restaurants in Namibia, and an iconic tourist attraction, she carries the responsibility to ensure and maintain the brand identity on a national and international level. “Folklore has it that you have not been to Namibia if you have not been to Joe’s,” she said.
