Exceptional manufacturers to be honoured
First National Bank, the main sponsor, again partnered as sponsor.
The NMA believes that by honouring and recognizing its members through this national annual event, it will inspire and motivate its members to increase the awareness of the high standard of manufacturing in Namibia and the important role which the sector is playing in wealth and job creation in this country and the rest of the SADC region.
The NMA received 43 entries spread over the following 6 categories:
Category 1: The NMA Corporate Manufacturer of the Year, Category 2: The NMA Small (SE) Manufacturer of the Year, Category 3: The NMA New Manufacturer of the Year, Category 4: The NMA Medium Manufacturer of the Year, Category 5: The NMA Ambassador for Manufacturing, Category 6: The NMA Most Environmentally Friendly Manufacturer and Category 7:The Overall Winner – judges’ choice.
This year a new category was introduced, The NMA Medium Manufacturer of the Year to give all members an equal opportunity in its specified category.
Entries received, exceeding in numbers and standard compared to last year had already been subjected to the first two rounds of judging; one by the NMA to ensure that all entries comply with the basic rules and regulations , and secondly by an independent panel of judges evaluating the entries against the criteria set for each category. The judging process will again include a visit to the place of work of the finalists to verify certain aspects of the information submitted on the entry forms. The judges will then decide who the overall winner is. Auditors (Grant Thornton Neuhaus) will verify all marks allocated and verify the winners in each category.
First Lady Monica Geingos will deliver the keynote address talking about “Opportunity for growth between the Manufacturing and Mining sectors and Government’s role in the facilitation of this initiative.”
Stefan Ludik, multi-award winning actor and performing artist will provide entertainment.
