Best of the Ambassadors honoured

Edith Mbanga was chosen as the overall winner of the Windhoek Lager Ambassador awards, last week. Edith was awarded for her work in changing people’s lives. She came to Windhoek shortly after Independence as a domestic worker, staying with her seven children in a single room. She became a member of a community group, People Square, where the emphasis is on saving every month. People Square was the first organisation to buy its members a piece of land where, today, they all have their own houses. Last year, Edith received the UN Habitat Scroll of Honour for her unwavering work to uplift her community.
