NIPAM to foster and enhance strategic partnerships with SA

The Namibia Institute of Public Administration and Management (NIPAM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National School of Government (NSG) based in Pretoria, South Africa this week.

Both institutions pledged to explore areas of co-operation with the aim of creating synergies and share skills as well as expertise to the ultimate benefit of the citizens of Namibia.
“We are happy indeed that today we have reached another milestone in our international partnerships by signing an agreement of understanding and co-operation with NSG,” said Prof. Diescho during the signing ceremony.
“We cannot change the past, but we can influence the future. The purpose of this MoU is to foster and enhance strategic partnership between NSG and NIPAM for Namibia’s human resources training and development. Focus is put on professional competencies and skills as determined or required by the Namibian government in order to create a vibrant, dynamic and unified public service,” added Diescho.
In his remarks, Prof. Richard Levin, Principal of the School of Government said that, “through this memorandum of understanding, NIPAM and the NSG have agreed to join hands in areas of joint interest. There are many things to share and high hopes that our Institutions will share, learn and succeed with the actions for that we will undertake together for improved performance by our Institutions”.
Projects that have been identified include to popularise the African Charter, developing parliamentary support programmes, developing joint research / case studies and comparative case studies, and co-developing and sharing curriculum and best practice experiences.
