U19’s cricket ladies clinch second spot in 4 Nations Cup

The team that travelled to Botswana and came runners up behind the winners Zimbabwe.

The U19 women cricket national team recently returned from a highly successful tour to Botswana. With victories against Botswana and Mozambique. The team completed the 4 Nation Cup as runners up behind the winners Zimbabwe, who were the only team to beat the youngsters.

The results was a clear indication that women cricket in Namibia is in good hands with the coaching team of Gareth Cloete and Tuqeer Raza making sure the squad had best ever preparation in comparison to previous years.
For this year’s season, Cricket Namibia will include a women’s cricket league. Two Teams from Windhoek (Zebra Ladies and WHS Ladies) and two from the coast (Blue Waters Ladies and Pro-Ed Ladies). The teams will contest in two cricket formats in search of the first women’s cricket champions at a tournament slated to start on 24 October in Windhoek.
The T20 format will be played over 2 rounds, with all teams playing each other 2 times, concluding a 1st and 3rd place play-off. Furthermore, the time cricket single round will commence in the second leg of the 2016 season.
