Wanted: Zero TB deaths

MC-caption-story“Stop TB in my lifetime.” This was the general message at this year’s World TB Day commemoration, held on 24 March. This year, government  with the assistance of the Namibian civil society and development partners will focus on promoting zero TB deaths through information dissemination campaigns and ensuring the well being of TB patients through monitoring programmes. Dr Richard Kamwi, Minister of Health and Social Services, said that as part of international efforts to address the increasing occurrence of TB in children, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Stop TB Partnership identified key actions to improve TB care and prevent deaths in children.
