Dr Lemmer crowned ‘Clashes’ champs again

Invincible and unbreakable: Dr. Lemmer High School celebrate lifting the FNB Classic Clashes rugby cup for the seventh time in a row.

Dr. Lemmer High School walked away victoriously in Rehoboth after beating their neighbours 50:6 in the last rugby match of the 2015 FNB Classic Clashes last week.

Vicky Muranda, Manager Corporate Communications for the FNB Group said, “it was a beautiful day and Dr. Lemmer High School proved why they have now been crowned the FNB Classic Clashes rugby champions for the seventh year in a row. They proved too strong for MK Gertze High School and their hard running players were a pleasure to watch in action.
John Carl Hess of Dr. Lemmer High School walked away with the Namib Mills Hero title for academics and sports, while Centre Hillian Beukes, also of Dr. Lemmer High School was awarded the title of FNB Man of the match.
The date for the FNB Classic Clash between HTS SS vs WBPS, originally planned for 25 July, has been moved to September. “This is also the month in which the last three soccer games will take place,” said Muranda. “We now have a bit of a break and then on 4, 11 and 12 September the last soccer games will be played, with the last rugby game tentatively set for 19 September.”
