African Stars gun for Hage Geingob Cup

MTC Premiership sides African stars and Julinho Sporting intend to do Namibia proud with a great showing during the 2015 Dr. Hage Geingob Cup which started this week at the Independence stadium in Windhoek.

African Stars, Namibia league champions and losing finalist last year at the first edition of the Dr. Hage Geingob Cup plan to go a step further and win the cup which they narrowly lost to Sundowns by a goal last year in the final.
Stars acquired the services of many youngsters, especially from relegated Rebels and have a squad of quality players who can upset anyone on any day. Stars captain, Pat Uanivi said, “We came very close last year and this time out, the competition is much tougher and we still have ambitions of landing the coveted trophy. We call upon our supporters to come in numbers and help us go all the way. It will not be easy but we have the quality and we believe we can make it happen,” added Uanivi.
Notable players that have joined their ranks since then include, Treasure Kauapirura, Engelhard Kahuaa and Brave Warriors winger Joslin Kamatuka. Recent signings include Rebels quartet, defender Ivan Kamberipa, midfielders Romario Maans and Marius Kotze, and striker Aubrey Amseb.
