MultiChoice Namibia officially launched the Zambezi Magic Channel 160, which is dubbed ‘The home of Southern African TV entertainment’ on DStv Premium and Compact early this week in Windhoek.

General Manager of MultiChoice Namibia, Mr Roger Gertze at the launch said that this channel is tailor made with the Southern African viewer in mind and will offer the most sought after archive content that has so far, not been available outside of South Africa.
“With Zambezi Magic, we are bringing our Southern African viewers content they have been asking for and most importantly, the channel will also build regional entertainment brands by showcasing entertainment productions from the various Southern African countries,” said Gertze. He added that their ultimate goal is to be the go to channel for quality Southern African produced shows and to provide viewers with a channel they can trust to bring local stories made in their own backyards.
Gertze said that the launch of Zambezi Magic is a significant one for them because this is proof that they listen to their viewers’ request for content that is closer to home. “Adding a channel that includes local productions also strengthens our association with the expanding entertainment industry in Southern Africa and reinforces our role in developing and supporting African production companies,” he added.
“This channel presents a whole new opportunity for Namibian Film producers to get the much needed exposure for use to expand and grow the Namibian Film Industry,” said Gertze. Zambezi Magic is available in Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
