This show officially conferred the winners of the music awards their awards and prize money.
The presenters for the evening were Pombili and Ashwyn who excelled at keeping the audience engaged for the entire duration of the show. The opening performance came from Paradox who are also the winners of the Most Disciplined Artist and Popular Artist of the Year awards. Tim Ekandjo, Chairman of the NAMA first apologies that the ceremony is one month late, but then stated that the reason for this delay is because they wanted to make sure that everything goes smoothly.
He also stated that the NAMA awards is one of the best in Africa and that they will keep on improving to make it one of the best in the world. He emphasised that the media should stop being so negative. “When we had the NAMA’s at Ramatex a few years back, the media criticised us for the whole year, but now that we have done an excellent job, they only write about it for a week,” he said.
Ekandjo said that this kind of reporting should stop and in the same breath congratulated all the category winners and informed the audience that the venue of the next NAMA has not be confirmed yet because they are still waiting for bids. After presenting the trophies and prize money to the artists, Young T gave a stellar performance to mark the close of ceremonies.
