Agra Hyper opens 20 July

Agra Retail has started preparing for the opening of their biggest ever retail branch at the Agra Hyper complex in Windhoek’s Lafrenz Industrial area on Monday 20 July 2015.

A mammoth task lies ahead for the next three weeks to shopfit, stock and prepare the point of sale network for Agra’s new hyperbranch in Lafrenz in Windhoek.

The new retail branch is scheduled to open on 20 July 2015, supported by a huge range of absolutely unbeatable specials.
Several dedicated Agra teams have already started to prepare and stock the new store of 3250m²; the feeds and licks store of 2617m² and the bulk storage yard of 4000m². At least twenty points of sale must still be installed. Most of the 800 metres of shelving, is in place. “We realise the magnitude of the job that lies ahead”, said Tobie Barlow, Agra retail operations manager. “However, the kind of products and service offering we will be able to deliver through these facilities motivate us and will keep us going for the challenging time ahead.” The retail head office staff moved into their new offices at Agra Hyper on Monday 15 June. The new branch will offer clients an extended range of stock items and exciting new products. Additions to the product offering are the DIY Depot, the weapons, ammunition and reloading division, the outdoors section, the hardware & building section, the power tools bay, the home décor section, and the electrical and plumbing sections. Andries van der Merwe, previously manager at two Agra branches and for the past year at the Windhoek retail branch, has assumed the position of branch manager. A number of employees have been transferred from the branch at Auas Valley to the branch at Agra Hyper while 150 new employees will take up employment in the next month to be trained.
Besides plenty of space to move and shop, Agra Hyper offers clients free parking on the premises entirely enclosed by security fencing. The Bean Juice Coffee Shop, a restaurant with a beautiful view, will provide beverages and light meals.
The complex allows wheelchair access to all areas. There are also separate parking bays for vehicles with trailers, parking for delivery vehicles and 150 general parking bays for customers.
The Agra branch in Windhoek’s Auas Valley Shopping Mall will remain in place and will be renovated as part of the next upgrade planned for the mall itself.
