!Gawaxab to chair SSC

The Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, Honourable Erkki Nghimtina this week announced the appointment of former Chief executive Johannes !Gawaxab as Chairperson of the Social Security Commission.

!Gawaxab replaces Bishop Emeritus Dr. Zephania Kameeta, who was recently appointed as Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare.
The Social Security Commission said the appointment of !Gawaxab would bring forth wealth of experience in insurance, financial services. !Gawaxab has not only worked in Namibia but also in Europe.
Said !Gawaxab: “We need to provide a dynamic social security service, ensure governance is above board and transparent, and ensure that the mandate of the Commission takes into consideration the new vision and direction articulated by President Hage Geingob.”
