African Union leaders meet for the development of Agenda 2063

The Executive Council of the African Union this week descended on Johannesburg, South Africa to chart a new path for the continent, putting high on their agenda the empowerment of women and to launch a new growth plan for collective growth titled Agenda 2063.

Heads of State and Government will join the council members on Sunday to consider the report of the Commission on the Ebola Crisis; the report of the Ministerial Retreat on Alternative Sources of Financing of the AU; the report of the Peace and Security Council and the progress report of the Commission on Maternal, New Born and Child Health.
