New Agra CEO

Agra’s highly respected CEO, Peter Kazmaier (left) is retiring later this year. Following in his footsteps is the CEO designate, Arnold Klein.

Arnold Klein is the CEO designate of Agra Ltd, the company’s Board announced this week. Klein will succeed Peter Kazmaier who has lead the company for 20 years and steered it through the transition from an Agricultural Cooperative to a public company.

Kazmaier retires at the end of October 2015. Klein joined Agra in October 2003 as General Manager: Agra Retail and Wholesale, a position he has occupied for nearly 18 years, however when the company was restructured, his position became part of the Executive Management Committee. Kazmaier is Agra’s third CEO after Carl Wolhuter and Coen Brand. Kazmaier took over in very turbulent times, pulling the cooperative through its most difficult period and re-establishing it as a credible and reliable agri-business. He was instrumental in transforming it into a public company, traded on the Namibian Stock Exchange in the so-called Over the Counter market.
The board, who started the recruitment process in November 2014, expressed their delight to appoint Klein after a thorough recruitment process and their “confidence that he will, with the great Agra team behind him, continue to lead Agra to new heights, following on the legacy left by Peter Kazmaier.”
