PTA Tennis Series resumes this weekend

Namibia’s PTA Tennis Series resumes this coming weekend. The two-day tournament, which is the only event in Namibia were the participants battle it out according to their skill set rather than their age, is set to take place at the Windhoek High School (WHS) tennis courts in the capital again.

Action is guaranteed in the mini category where Eila Kambonde and Jamilla Hungamo have been putting up a great rivalry since the beginning of the year. In February it was Kambonde who took top honours. However, a month later, Hungamo kept an upper hand to be crowned the winner. In the beginner’s category, Mike Kambonde is expected to continue his dominance. The defending champion in this category won the first two tournaments and is the favourite again come Saturday. However, Kambonde can not be too complacent as the likes of Faith Kahuure, Delicia Dirkse and Megano Sheeya are sure to give him some competition. More intense tennis action can be expected for the intermediate category where Brandon Maasdorp and Lorentz Kotze drew the last tournament.
