Pinnacle gives bursaries

(Photograph contributed)The Pinnacle Metropolitan Empowerment Trust presented its bursaries for 2012 on 15 March to a group of first, third and fourth year students. The first of its kind for the trust, the bursaries will target students in the areas of Accounting, Law and Actuarial Science.
Students were selected on the relevance the field of study had within the insurance industry, their current academic performance, as well as ensuring that the bursary scheme was representative of the Namibian demographic group.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, chairperson of the trust, Clara Bohitile said that the Pinnacle Trust took pride in providing bursaries to students irrespective of their race or gender, and has also ensured that students from regions other than Khomas have been selected.
The trust invests heavily in skills development and training, focusing extensively on building character and leadership skills.
Four students received bursaries for 2012 including Charity Mufwinda, a fourth year law student at the University of Namibia, Naita Nghipondoka, first year actuarial student at the Stellenbosch University, Nadia Nortje, fourth year accounting student at the University of Namibia and Willem van Greunen, third year law student at the North West University.
The bursaries are worth N$ 200 000 and will cover registration and tuition fees, books, accommodation and travelling.
