NAMA glamour and glitz

The Namibian Music Awards once again returned to the coastal town of Swakopmund, with approximately 5000 Namibians flocking to the Indoor Sports Centre to celebrate the best of what Namibian music has to offer, while an estimated 200 million viewers watched the show across the globe.

The 5th anniversary of the NAMA was a world class event and it surpassed all expectations. Music was not the only thing on the cards with local artist and the public donning the latest in fashion garments. Most stuck to the modern theme of formal evening dresses and tailored suits, while others were a little more daring and mixed modern with traditional African prints. Musicians displayed their outfits on the Blue Carpet where the paparazzi eagerly took pictures of the glitzy, glamorous and not so glamours and outrages outfits. The atmosphere was electric, with people waiting in anticipation for Namibia’s most prestigious music awards to begin. Umbi Karuaihe-Upi, Head of Corporate Affairs, NBC with her husband Ngamane Karuaihe-Upi, a Motivational Speaker and Relationship Advisor, struck a very sophisticated and pose on the Blue Carpet at Friday night’s NAMA Industry Awards.
