The National Youth Council of Namibia (NYCN) established by Act of Parliament No 3, declares that the 27th of April each year should be dedicated to celebrations of the nation’s youth. It provides for an annual national Youth week, dedicated to the youth.

As such, the Hardap Youth Forum last week joined the rest of the country in celebrating the annual National Youth Day by hosting a three day event from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May in Rehoboth. The event which was attended by youth from all constituencies in the Region was celebrated under the theme “Youth celebrating 25years of successful Independence and Democracy”.
Over the three days, the participants took part in various activities that included cultural and choir competitions, soccer, netball and volleyball matches as well as a beauty pageant. Whilst Windhoek held a Miss Youth beauty pageant, Hardap held a Miss Hardap Youth Beauty Pageant and chose the youthful and beautiful Beaurenzia Hanases as Miss Hardap Youth 2015, Abigail Beukes as first princess; and second princess Patience Gabuza.
