Husab water supply advances

The Namibia Water Corporation recently announced that the construction of a water pipeline that will supply water to the Husab mine was at an advanced stage. Namwater spokesperson Tommi Numbula gave an update when contacted by the Economist.

The particular water works is the construction of a water pipeline to the new Husab Mine and it is in an advance stage.
Numbula explained that the newly built pipeline runs parallel to the older pipeline which provides water to the existing Langer Heinrich and Rossing Uranium mines.
Asked whether the newly built water pipeline would serve the older mines, in particular, Langer Heinrich, Numbula responded, “The Langer Heinrich Mine is already provided with water directly from the Swakopmund reservoir.  The pipeline to the new Husab Mine is running next to the Langer Heinrich Mine pipeline for the first 20 kilometres.”
