Samsung this week launched their latest addition to their galaxy family, the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge. The devices bring cellphone charging to another level with the very first wireless charging technology, that is not only fast but requires no cables.

In comparison to the S5 the S6 charges 33% faster with a 10 minute charge providing up to four hour usage time.
“With the all new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung is offering whats next in mobility, along with a new standard to drive the global mobile agenda,” said Craig Fleischer: Head of Mobile Samsung Electronics South Africa.
“By listening to our customers and learning from both our success and feedback, we continuously push forward new technologies and ideas. With a re-imagined design, robust partner network and novel services, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 users will have the ultimate experience in smart phone options”, he said.
With the new S6 range you will never miss a moment as the devices allow you to start the camera in only 0.7 seconds which is done by quickly tapping the ‘Home’ button twice. Both phones are equipped with a 5 mega pixels front camera and 16 mega pixels back camera which give clearer and more vivid photos day and night as the devices are fitted with F1.8 lenses and high resolution sensors in both cameras for twice the brightness in dark condition.
“When we started designing the S6 we went back to the drawing board, we decided to start from scratch so we would give our customers only the best. The galaxy S6 is the perfect combination of metal and glass with a new and strong aluminium (A1 6013) frame adopted from aircraft, yacht and mountain bike technology which covers both front and back, and light reflective 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 which is the toughest glass available,” said Fleischer.
The thin (6.8 mm/7.0mm edge) and lightweight (138g/132 edge) Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 integrate the most advanced, cutting-edge, Samsung core technology available today. The world’s first 14nm mobile processor with 64-bit platform, new LPDDR4 memory system and UFS 2.0 flash memory provides higher performance and enhanced memory speed with lower power consumption.
Moreover, the world’s first 1440P/VP9 hardware based codec enables users to enjoy high resolution streaming video while also using less power. In addition, the 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen offers users the highest pixel density of 577ppi and the enhanced outdoor visibility with a brighter display (600cd/mm) lets consumers experience content without compromise anywhere, at anytime.
You can pick the galaxy S6 or S6 Edge in 32GB, 64GB or 128GB configurations which are available in white pearl, gold platinum and black sapphire. Prices of the devices range from N$13,999 for the S6 Edge and N$10,999 for the S6 flat at Samsung shops and selected retailers.
