Limiting lawyers’ exposure to claims
The Law Society of Namibia announced earlier this week that it has re-appointed Mr Habo Gerdes (seated left), Ms Hilke Ahrens (seated right) and Mr Ramon Maasdorp (standing left) to serve on the Board of Control of the Legal Practitioners’ Fidelity Fund.
The current president of the Law Society, Mr Nolan Swarts (standing right) is the ex-officio member and Ms Dee Sauls (Councillor of the Law Society) is the alternate member. The Fidelity Fund protects the interest of the public by providing a buffer for claims of malpractice against lawyers.
