New limited edition presidential stamps

Nampost’s very successful philately section launched their latest edition of collector stamps shortly before the 25th Independence celebrations. Nampost said the new series presents the three Presidents since Independence, creating something unique and special that would be part of Namibia’s history.

The new stamp series show second President Hifikepunye Pohamba together with the founding President, Dr Sam Nujoma, and, at the time of the launch, the President elect, Dr Hage Geingob.
“The stamp series forms part of Nampost commemorating 25 years of freedom in Namibia and they wanted to create something unique and special that would be part of Namibia’s history.”
The stamps are for standard mail usage which means that they can be used on conventional envelopes and small packages. “To release stamps of Namibia, is our way of bragging about our country world-wide. Our stamps travel the world where our people can not travel. The Presidential series of March 2015 were printed in small quantities which will make the stamps scarce and valuable in the near future” said Hannelie Maasdorp of Nampost. The era of smart phones and technology has not smothered the usage and relevance of stamps. As stamps are small ambassadors in print, they and also form part of a national heritage to preserve the fauna flora and the rich history and culture of Namibia. As a matter of fact, the heritage on the stamps has seen Nampost grab two international awards for the most beautiful stamp in the world. Nampost won the award in 2003 and again in 2007.”
The presidential series stamps will have an increasing collectors value in future as there are only a limited number of these stamps available. The collectors series sells for N$30 per set.
