WALKA launches in Windhoek
One of the most innovative new television products has just landed in the Namibian market, the Walka. The Walka is a portable handheld TV device which enables Windhoek based DStv subscribers to watch television on the go at any time.
The launch of the Walka follows a long line of technology innovations associated with MultiChoice – including the Drifta and Drifta USB and DStv’s High Definition PVR decoders and integrated customer service tools on DStv.com.
Marius Burger, general manager of MultiChoice Namibia, says that MultiChoice Namibia is always committed to making continuous investments in new technologies and content, ensuring that customers are kept at the cutting edge of television technology.
“Technology continues to transform the way the Namibian consumers access news, information and entertainment – for example our high definition channels and PVR decoders allow subscribers to take control on when and how they watch programming on Dstv,” he said.
The Walka device is portable, slim, light-weight and has an in-built signal receiver that lets you receive the DVB-H signal and content in areas where there is DVB-H coverage (Windhoek only). The device does not require Wi-Fi, 3G or PC connectivity. The Walka is available from MultiChoice, Game, Supatronix and TV Worx stores in Windhoek only.
