MTC is organising the largest music explosion to have ever hit Windhoek, announced Tim Ekandjo, Chief Human Capital & Corporate Affairs for MTC, as part of the mobile operator’s contribution to celebrate 25 years of independence.

Regarding the music concerts Ekandjo said “for Namibia’s 25 years of Independence we want to celebrate this with all Namibians and at the same time show appreciation to our customers.” “Music is the food of love and the power of music unifies because it is a universal language, and we therefore want everybody to come celebrate with us” he said when he announced that MTC is bringing Grammy award nominee and RnB singer Trey Songzs to Namibia. Ekandjo said this is the first time such a highly acclaimed award-winning artist has been reeled in for a local performance, since the show by P-Square last year.
Tremaine Aldon Neverson, whose stage name is Trey Songzs but is know to his fans as Trigga, has recorded six studio albums since entering the music scene in 2006.Trigga is the title of his 6th studio album which includes songs such as Na Na and Let Me Change Your Mind. Trey is also the master mind behind hits like I Need a Girl, Successful, Say ah, and Bottoms up. On Tuesday MTC also announced that they will be bringing in acclaimed gospel maestro, Rebecca Malope. Known as the Queen of Gospel, she has been recording her sweet gospel sounds for 29 years. Trey Songz is set to perform on 30 May 2015 while Malope will grace the stage on 31 May 2015. Songz performance will be complemented by performances from the best female and male artist winners of the NAMAs 2015. Doors open at 15:00 Saturday at the Independence Stadium. The first performance is set to start at 18:00 for the Trey Songz concert while doors open at 12:00 for the Rebecca Malope concert with the first performance slated for 14:00. Trey Songzs is the show stopper and will start at 22:00. Tickets for Trey Songz are priced at N$800 for VIP tickets, N$400 for golden tickets and N$150 for general tickets.
Tickets for Rebecca Malope are priced at N$150 for golden tickets and N$50 for general tickets.
