Hentzen beats Skinner in Oanob Mile

Florian Hentzen receives his prize from the Pointbreak representative, Daneel Van Der Walt.Young Namibian sportsman, 18 year old Florian Hentzen, took top spot in the 2.1km Pointbreak Open Water swim. Hentzen showed that he is the country’s best open water swimmer by beating seasoned veteran, Alex Skinner in the last few metres. But it was not all plain sailing for Hentzen. The starting pace was fast as Skinner created a lead of at least 10m by the time he had reached the first buoy. Skinner maintained his lead for the first 2 laps and the majority of the third and final lap, and it was only in the last 200m that Hentzen was able to close the gap and finally overtake Skinner.
