St Boniface College delivers again

Everyone’s pride and joy: Alfons Kudumo has been ranked as the country’s number one pupil for the 2014 Grade 12 NSSC ordinary level examinations

Alfons Kudumo, a pupil from St Boniface College is the country’s number one ranked pupil of the 2014 Grade 12 Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) ordinary level examinations. Nine out of the top ten best overall performance pupils came from St Boniface College, with the tenth position being held by a pupil from Haimbili Haufiku Secondary School. The new school in the Kavango Region, partially funded by the government, also made the number one ranking in the comparison of the top 20 school performances of the country.

Kudumo said that a large contributor was the fact that he started studying since the first day that his school opened until the day of his final paper, crediting the ultimate reason for his success as hard work and determination. He also emphasised the role of his school and the teachers at St Boniface College, praising them for both his own, and the institution’s success. He said that the teachers were the main driving force towards achieving the high ranking and impressive performance of the institution and its learners, and that the school is not like any other he has been too. Kudomo has since applied to the University of Namibia for a Bachelor of Accounting (Chartered Accountancy) Degree. Having already been given provisional acceptance, with his results he can now advance to the next step of his academic career. Meanwhile the difference in cumulative percentages between 2014 and 2013 results for the full-time candidates, suggest that the NSSC level results of the full-time candidates show that the percentage of graded entries increased from 93% in 2013 to 93.2% in 2014. This is a slightly better performance of the 2014 candidates compared to the 2013 candidates.
