At the announcement of the sponsorship are f.l.t.r., Charles Eksteen (athlete), Leoni van Rensburg (Executive Member of Athletics Namibia), Alna Similo (President of Athletics Namibia), Johannes Jossop (athlete), Silvanus Stoffel (athlete), Marlize Horn (Executive Officer: Group Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek) and Bethold Karumendu (Technical Commissioner at Athletics Namibia).

Bank Windhoek announced last week its renewal of the sponsorship agreement with Athletics Namibia with a sponsorship of N$350,000 for the 2015 athletics season, which will kick-off this weekend with the Bank Windhoek Grand Prix at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek.
Marlize Horn, Executive Officer: Group Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek, said, “This sponsorship is once again a demonstration of Bank Windhoek’s long-term commitment to the development of athletics in Namibia.

We are confident in the management of Athletics Namibia and we are proud of the strides our athletes are making at regional and international events.
This is all possible with the sponsorship that Bank Windhoek and other sponsors, including the government, made towards the sport over the years.”
The President of Athletics Namibia, Alna Similo, praised Bank Windhoek for their continued support to the development and promotion of athletics in Namibia. She said, “Bank Windhoek is one of our long standing supporters.
However, we need more corporate sponsors to come on board. The sweat of our athletes and the accolades they are receiving every year at regional and international events, is a sign that we are doing a good job, but we can do better.
With your help, we can discover the next Frankie Fredericks or the next Agnes Samaria to bring home more gold and silver meadals.”
The second leg of the Grand Prix will take place on 28 March in Swakopmund, followed by the Bank Windhoek National Championship on 11 April in Windhoek.
